CMS Platform Selection: Blogger

I chose Blogger as my CMS platform because it ended up being the most practical and reliable option for what I need to accomplish in this course. While I originally planned to use WordPress, I ran into technical issues during setup that slowed down my progress. Blogger allowed me to move forward immediately without sacrificing functionality, which matters since this project is about testing content, consistency, and virality rather than getting stuck on backend problems.

From a usability standpoint, Blogger is very straightforward. The interface is clean, easy to understand, and doesn’t require any prior experience with web development. Creating posts, editing pages, and customizing the layout are all simple and intuitive. Navigation is also clear for both the creator and the audience. Readers can easily scroll through posts, access pages, and understand the flow of content without being overwhelmed.

In terms of layout and aesthetics, Blogger offers enough customization to match my brand identity. I was able to choose a template that looks clean and minimal, which works well as a landing page for my content. Fonts, colors, images, and page structure can all be adjusted without overcomplicating the design. This keeps the focus on the content itself, which is important for building credibility and engagement.

Overall, Blogger fits my needs because it’s accessible, functional, and efficient. It allows me to focus on creating and distributing content across platforms while still serving as a central hub for my brand.

Social Media Platform Selection: Instagram

For social media, I chose Instagram because it aligns best with my target audience and my overall content creation strategy. This platform is heavily driven by visual content, short form video, and algorithm based discovery, which makes it ideal for testing virality.

My target audience is primarily Gen Z and younger millennials who already spend a lot of time on these platforms. Instagram, in particular, is powerful because content does not rely on follower count to perform well. The “Explore” page allows posts to reach large audiences quickly if the content resonates. This gives me a strong opportunity to experiment with trends, hooks, and storytelling techniques and analyze what works.

Instagram is offering multiple content formats in one place. Reels allow me to repurpose TikTok style videos, while Stories and Posts help build a more consistent brand identity. Features like hashtags, audio trends, saves, shares, and comments all contribute to discoverability and engagement, which increases viral potential.

This platform also provides built in analytics that allow me to track views, reach, engagement, and audience behavior. This data is essential for evaluating performance and adjusting my strategy over time. Overall, Instagram works well as a distribution platform and supports my goal of creating engaging, shareable content with strong viral potential.
